High definition? Ultra high-def? Streaming catch-up services? Not for 10,000 households where the only television is still BLACK AND WHITE

They are generally regarded as historic relics part of a bygone era of broadcasting history.
But even in today’s digital age there are almost 10,000 households in Britain who have turned a blind eye to the trends for huge high-definition TVs in favour of their old black and white set.
Official figures by TV licencing reveal there are 9,356 people in the UK who still have a licence to watch television in shades of grey, nearly 50 years after the first colour broadcasts.
